Today was little bit of a downer mood-wise...I had nausea all day, including during a 2.5 hour training session that I led with 12 people. I think my body is revolting against the sauciness of every single meal I eat (Indian food is largely some kind of sauce with veggies/cottage cheese in it, along with bread and/or rice.) I like Indian food, but I would pay many a rupee for some fresh cheddar cheese, fruits, and veggies, which are the staples of our usual summer diet. But here, everything has to be cooked, or we'll be sick -- fresh produce is likely washed in tap water, which we're not allowed to have. On top of that, while my sleep cycle has adjusted fairly well, my stomach is a little finicky still about eating palaak paneer at what it thinks is 3 a.m. When I got back to the apartment, Mark was also bummed and craving something familiar. So we ate PB&J sandwiches for dinner, which was lovely if for no other reason than it was a cold meal -- and shortly after, my stomach has settled. Who knew?
But enough whining...today was relatively uneventful, a pretty calm day at the office. At lunch, the regional teasing fired up again between Nitesh, who is from Delhi, and the Mumbaikars, and to a lesser extent also the mild-mannered Bengalis. Nitesh is pretty insistent that Delhi is wonderful and less hectic than Bombay, but of course the natives here disagree. It's kind of fun to listen to them all try to sell me on their own cities' finer points. It's too bad we won't get the chance to visit much outside of Bombay since we have only a couple days here and there to travel...
