Props to shower curtains

So my first attempt at showering in the bathroom-at-large was only half successful, as I was unable to figure out the hot water. There is a hot water heater on the wall, but I'm not sure what combination of valves and switches need to be opened and flipped to make it happen. The water wasn't freezing, so in any case, I am clean, but the bathroom floor is a wet mess. The toilet paper got splashed, the toilet seat is wet, and I'm happy to have had the foresight to take the toothbrushes out of the bathroom before turning the shower on. I have to say, the shower curtain and tub combo is a system that I won't take for granted anymore...it's always the "little things," I suppose.
